Protecting our Very Fragile Environment

The Lake Clifton region, including Herron, Preston Beach and of course Yalgorup is a truly unique area and there are a number of organisations dedicated to protecting the flora and fauna from being lost as population pressures increase. These organisations include:

Fragyle - a community organisation dedicated to ensuring that the level of development and population increase is sustainable and does not destroy the Wetlands, Birds, Thrombolites, Possums, Tuart forest and Dunes.

Lake Clifton Landcare - "Landcare is a uniquely Australian partnership between the community, government and business to 'do something practical' about protecting and repairing our environment. More than 4,000 volunteer community landcare groups - including bushcare and urban landcare, rivercare, coastcare and sustainable agriculture groups - are tackling land degradation in every corner of Australia."
